The monthly newsletter on news and MPP activities in Kanata and West Carleton

Dear Kanata and West Carleton Residents,

I hope this email finds you and your family well. Throughout September the Provincial Government has continued to manage Ontarians’ health and safety concerns relating to COVID-19. As you will read below, we are providing information and support on a range of issues, from ensuring students are back at their studies, to programs like the dental support for seniors.

I have been active in ensuring our business community is aware of the support that is available to them. I have also been addressing questions from individuals who have concerns with health or economic issues.

You will find that this newsletter provides helpful background information on programs and services and direct links to online resources.

Please connect with my Community Office if I can be of any assistance, or you just wish to discuss an issue or a community matter.

P.S. -- As the Province carefully reopens, you can be assured the health and well-being of Ontarians remain a top priority for the Premier and all MPPs. Stay informed of the latest COVID-19 news from the Ontario Government. You may also wish to reference my Information and Resources Page on the MPP website for key phone and online contact coordinates respecting COVID-19 information and services in our community.

Over the weekend of September 19-20th, a pop-up, drive-thru COVID-19 testing centre was conducted at the Canadian Tire Centre. There were 50 front line professionals from 11 different Ottawa region paramedic services, along with volunteers and citizens, who tested a total of 2750 patients. I would like to commend the collaborative effort and thank all involved with this testing centre.

The photo is from Saturday's end-of-day debriefing. I was pleased to offer a few words of support and to thank the community paramedics from across the Ontario Health East region.

NOTE: As of September 25th, select pharmacies (including locations in Ottawa's west end) are offering free COVID-19 testing. Before you visit a testing centre, check for the location nearest you and review the information at COVID-19 Testing Information.
