MPP Fullerton: "Make a conscious effort to buy local..."
October 9, 2020 -- As businesses continue to meet the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, Kanata-Carleton MPP Merrilee Fullerton is urging Ottawa residents to support their local businesses -- both large and small.
“I ask everyone to make a conscious effort to support our local business community,” says MPP Fullerton. “Buy at your neighbourhood retailer and small business, and consider Ottawa’s many medium- and larger-sized businesses for your manufactured goods and contract services."
The MPP adds, "As we begin to consider our Christmas shopping, think first and foremost to buy local and shop in Ottawa shops.”
Fullerton comments, “With the community’s support, our local businesses can and will rebound. I will continue to work with our community’s business groups to provide the support necessary for local businesses to make it through this challenging period."
Through the months of November and December, MPP Fullerton's office will promote a “Shop Local” campaign in Kanata and West Carleton communities. “Whether it is with the Kanata North Business Association, Kanata Central or the Carp BIAs, or the Ottawa Board of Trade, I will be supporting our business networks to promote Ottawa goods and services locally and to champion Ottawa to develop business opportunities beyond our regional borders,” says Fullerton.
